Step beneath the emerald canopy where Giant Oaks spread their moss-covered branches, creating a natural roof that blocks almost all direct sunlight. Walk the paved trails that wind through prehistoric ferns and banyan roots that seem sculpted by time. Cross the small bridge over the stream and feel how the humidity and the aroma of fresh earth envelop you, instantly lowering the sensory temperature. Get close to the Banyan Circle, a point where several ancient trees intertwine creating a natural cathedral of wood and leaves. It is an immersion in the “Green Utopia”, where each step immerses you further in a peace that you thought impossible to find in Miami.
Level: Safe (Nature Preserve). Enchanted Forest is a community park managed by North Miami with staff and a visitor center. It is an extremely safe and familiar environment. Being a dense forest, it is recommended to stay on paved trails to avoid contact with stinging plants or protruding roots. In the rainy months, the use of insect repellent is essential due to the humidity of the forest. The park is a smoke-free and loud noise-free zone to protect local wildlife.
Grade: Gold. The park stands out for its universal accessibility. The main trails are fully paved and wide enough for wheelchairs and strollers. The visitor center, bathrooms and play areas are designed under total accessibility standards. There are numerous strategically placed benches for breaks during the tour under the shade of the forest canopy.
The Banyan Creek Bridge. Stand in the center of the small wooden bridge that crosses the inner canal. From here, look up to see the roots of the giant banyan fall towards the water, creating a natural curtain of texture and shadow. The silence is almost total at this point, interrupted only by the rustling of branches. It is the perfect shot to capture the most “charmed” aspect of Miami, where green absolutely dominates the scene.
