You just took the classic photo in front of the London Fortress and the immense Tower Bridge. Around you there are hundreds of tourists, traffic noise and stress. But you have a secret. You walk a few meters to the east, cross under an inconspicuous pedestrian bridge, and suddenly the chaos disappears. You have just entered St Katharine Docks, the only marina in central London. It is an oasis surrounded by skyscrapers where historic sailboats and luxury yachts rest on calm waters. It is the perfect definition of an urban sanctuary.

Your Dive Protocol: Start your tour from the west entrance (next to Tower Bridge). It skirts the main dock clockwise. Enjoy the sound of the water and the modern architecture that surrounds the old docks. Your main objective is to reach the central square where The Dickens Inn stands, a spectacular 18th century pub rebuilt in wood and covered almost entirely by hanging flowers.
Take a break here. When finished, head towards the south exit that faces the River Thames. You’ll discover a small hidden pedestrian walkway that will offer you the best side view of Tower Bridge in all of London, without a single tourist blocking your camera.
Green Zone: It is a high-income private marina open to the public. It has 24/7 private security and surveillance cameras. Extremely safe to walk with expensive equipment.
Inclusion Grade: Silver. 90% of the route has ramps and wide hallways. However, some walkways around the water are made of natural wood slats, which can cause a slight vibration in wheelchairs.
The real Golden Spot is not inside the marina, but at its southern exit. As you leave St Katharine Docks towards the river, you will come to a small pedestrian bay. You have a completely clear, water-level side view of the Tower Bridge. Activate portrait or wide angle mode. It’s the perfect spot to video if you’re lucky enough that the bridge is opening to let a boat pass.
