It is an architectural respite where concrete surrenders to moss, waterfalls and stone bridges without mortar. It is your personal oasis; the perfect antidote to the frenetic pace of Manhattan, especially when the city is bustling with tourists.

The route begins by entering on West 100th Street, at The Pool. From there, the city disappears as you cross under the imposing Glen Span Arch. Follow the waterway through The Ravine, a narrow path flanked by tall trees where the sound of three hidden waterfalls drowns out the sirens of New York. Your visual target is the Huddlestone Arch, a feat of engineering built from massive rocks wedged together by gravity. End your tour by emerging at the Harlem Meer, where the city gently reappears on the horizon.
Level: Yellow (Conditional). Very safe and calm during the day. However, being a wooded area without deep artificial lighting, it should be avoided after sunset.
Inclusion grade: Bronze. The inner path (The Ravine) has rustic stone and dirt steps, inaccessible to wheelchairs.
Inclusive Alternate Route: Skirting The Pool and Harlem Meer offers partial views along level paved trails.
Below the second waterfall of The Loch. There is a large flat rock in front of the main waterfall, in the ravine. Sit there, close your eyes for a minute. It is the only point in Manhattan where it is physically impossible to see a single building.
