Descend along the cobbled paths that surround the main cloister. The temperature drops while the aroma of humid earth and pine resin envelops you. Enter the Chapel of Secrets; experience its unique acoustics whispering in one corner to be heard in the opposite. Explore the meditation cells and inner gardens where monks practiced self-reliance. We recommend walking to the catacomb area to feel the weight of history under your feet and then going out into the forest to watch the fog filter through the centuries-old fir trees.
Level: Safe (Natural Park). The national park has rangers, but it is recommended not to leave the main trails after 4 PM. Bring warm clothing (thermal) as the temperature is usually 10°C lower than in the city and fog is frequent.
Grade: Silver. The convent has access ramps in main areas, although there are uneven levels, stone stairs and narrow corridors in catacombs that make transit difficult in a heavy wheelchair. Assistance is recommended for exterior gardens.
The Whisper of the Chapel. Head to the Chapel of Secrets at 12:00 PM. If the forest fog enters through the windows, the visual effect is mystical. It is the perfect time to test the acoustics and feel the vibration of historical silence.
