Your private trajinera awaits you at the Cuemanco pier. As you move away from the shore, the dawn haze reveals a landscape of reflecting pools and floating gardens. You will visit an active chinampa of organic agriculture, where you will taste freshly harvested products under a farm-to-table concept. The tour includes a stop at a sanctuary specialized in the preservation of the axolotl, where you will learn about the biological and mystical importance of this ancient being. It is a complete sensory immersion: the smell of wet earth, the sound of migrating birds and the golden light filtering through the branches of the ancient willows.
Level: High (Private Shield). When operating from the Cuemanco pier and in reserve areas, security is exceptional and free from the crowds of traditional Xochimilco. The premium trajineras have discreet life jackets and trained first aid personnel. Biodegradable sunscreen and natural insect repellent are recommended.
Grade: Silver. The Cuemanco pier has access ramps. Boarding the trajinera is done at level, facilitating entry for people with reduced mobility. Premium trajineras are wider and more stable than conventional ones. The environment is highly sensory, ideal for people with autism or hearing sensitivity due to the low noise level.
The Water Mirror. In the main channel of the reserve, ask the paddler to stop completely when the sun is 10 degrees above the horizon. The absence of an engine and the stagnant water create a perfect mirror where the sky merges with the canal. It is the point of maximum stillness and the ideal place to observe the flight of white herons.
