Advice from our Logistics Coordinator: Escape Route: From Fiumicino Airport (FCO) to the city center. After landing, instinct drives the crowd to look for cheap buses or pirate taxis. Avoid that trap. We recommend taking the Leonardo Express train from Fiumicino Airport (FCO) to the center; it’s a bit more expensive than a bus, but it takes you directly to the central Rome Termini train station in 32 minutes. Important notice: Termini Station is an overwhelming energetic vortex. Upon stepping off, pay close attention to your surroundings, walk briskly, and head straight to the exit or the underground metro. Politely, but without stopping, ignore anyone offering unsolicited help with luggage.
Advice from our Transport Specialist: The Roman subsoil holds too much history, so its metro network is not as extensive, but it is constantly growing (in fact, there is a line that is a museum in itself). The best way to absorb the city is on foot, following our shaded routes, or through the surface tram network. For your peace of mind: Public transport is usually densely populated, especially buses. When your social or sensory battery is low, prioritize walking down secondary streets or use a private transport service.
