Your route begins at the Metro A Giulio Agricola station, a residential neighborhood that gives no clues to the wonder it hides. When crossing the Via Lemonia, the horizon opens up. You will walk parallel to the majestic Acquedotto Claudio, whose 2,000-year-old arches define the landscape. We will explore the ruins of the Villa delle Vignacce and the Acquedotto Felice, from the Renaissance period. We will cross meadows where occasional herds still graze, until we reach the Casale di Roma Vecchia, a medieval tower built on Roman remains. It is the ideal place for an impromptu picnic, feeling the breeze that runs between the arches and the freedom of a Rome without fences or turnstiles.

Safety Tip: As it is a very open area, there is not much shade; use sun protection. Avoid the park after dark, as it has no artificial lighting and you can get lost on the dirt trails.
